Moon Sweepers black screen or not launching
A black screen or a game that never reaches the menu should start with patch 1.0.4, then a Steam file check. On AMD hardware the same patch already forces DirectX 11, which is the official crash mitigation. Older Proton builds on Steam Deck had a separate startup fix in that patch. No other launch flag is documented.

General practice - 3Remove experimental launch options
Delete -force-d3d12 if an AMD card is going black or closing. Leave other copied flags out unless you know why you added them.

The notes tie older Proton versions to startup failures and say 1.0.4 fixes them. This is not a Deck Verified badge.

- Should I add -force-d3d11?
- You should not need to. 1.0.4 already defaults Windows to DirectX 11. The only graphics flag the notes publish is -force-d3d12, and that one opts out of the AMD fix.
- Is there a Linux or Steam Deck step?
- 1.0.4 says startup issues with older Proton versions on Steam Deck and Linux were fixed. Update Proton and the game. The store page itself does not list Linux or Steam Deck as platforms.
